The Instructional Technology Initiative has released a follow-up report to the 2016 ITI Task Force Recommendations, entitled Leading with Instruction, detailing the District’s progress toward optimizing the learning environment for all learners. Since the ITI Task Force Recommendations were published and presented to the Board of Education in 2016, ITI has worked toward implementing each recommendation in collaboration with school site leaders,
District offices, and community-based organizations.
In April 2015, the ITI Task Force set out to collectively develop a vision for instructional technology practices District-wide. Weekly meetings over the course of a year among parents, students, teachers, principals, and community partners culminated in the ITI Task Force Recommendations report published in June 2016. The ITI Task Force Recommendations put forth District stakeholders’ best thinking around personalized learning grounded in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards and the U.S. Department of Education’s National Education Technology Plan. The Leading with Instruction report builds upon this foundation.
Grounded in research and promising practices, the Leading with Instruction report provides readers with a revised set of components that support a successful instructional technology program aligned to key frameworks such as the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Essential Conditions, the K12 Computer Science Framework, and the Prosci ADKAR Change Management Model.
