Digital Citizenship Week - Audubon Middle School

The community of teachers and students at Audubon Middle School have committed themselves to be advocates for digital citizenship in uniformity across grade levels.  Teachers here use Common Sense Media as a main resource to support Audubon Eagles in engaged active learning surrounding Digital Citizenship. During LAUSD's recognized Digital Citizenship Awareness week on October 17th-21st, students and staff at Audubon participated in a school-wide anti-bullying campaign! Lessons were taught, posters were made, games were played, and prizes were won! They even had Emoji friends visit all classrooms delivering anti-bullying messages and “Emoji goodies” to each student on campus!   As a result of Audubon's efforts, the impact of teaching our students to be good digital citizens can be seen and heard campus wide.

Students were more empathetic and respectful as their awareness of cyberbullying grew.  Student were also taught how to use appropriate search engines as they participate in project based learning; and had healthy online interactions as it pertains to academics and social communications.
